Jackson Rugamba, Children Center Librarian - Gisenyi, Rwanda

Jackson grew up in Gisenyi, the area where he is the district hospital children’s librarian. He is a fantastic artist and enjoys supporting the children. “When I started working at the children center, I didn’t expect anything. Then the children started calling me “teacher”, “uncle”, “muganga” which is the Kinyarwanda word for “doctor”. I see how they love me and I enjoy spending time helping them. I love working at the hospital children center.” Jackson adds, “I like to pray, not because my parents taught me to pray. I love football too. I like the colors army green and black. I believe I am a simple man and a hard worker.” We appreciate Jackson. He has been managing the Gisenyi hospital children’s center since it was created three years ago! Thank you Jackson!!
