Project Life is helping to bridge the gap between accessible surgical care and the rural Himalayan region.

In 2018, Dr Shaye partnered with Dr. Shankar Rai of the Nepal Cleft and Burn Center to lead a Mobile Surgical Scouts Program.  Mobile surgical scouts trekked through the most remote regions of Nepal to diagnose and assist patients with cleft lips and palates to undergo surgery.  With the program, the rate of patients undergoing cleft surgery from remote regions tripled.
